August Update

This month has been full of playing, swimming, reading stories and enjoying our time together as a family and I'm trying to take it all in before Jace starts school next year.  I really don't want this time of no schedule and seeing the kids every day to end.  Until that time I'm going to try and take advantage of having them all home with me all of the time.  Some days that is easier to do than others.

The weather has been a little cooler (low 90's) here so we have been playing outside a lot.  It has been fun to go and play at the river and Jace & Bailey LOVE playing in the dirt.  Brody planted some giant watermelon seeds at our river ranch this year and they grew really well.  The biggest one got to 108 pounds!  We cut it open this afternoon and the kids helped collect the seeds out of it so we can grow more next year.  Surprisingly it tasted pretty good!

Brooklyn continues to be a very good and easy baby which we are so thankful for.  She also just learned how to roll over and is starting to scoot around as well.  I can't believe that she is 4 months old already!  Jace got her to giggle a little bit today and he was so proud of himself (she laughed a little at Brody the other day but we haven't got her to do it since).

The farming season is starting to draw to a close so Brody is going to start slowing down pretty soon.  We all look forward to that time since we get to see him a lot more.  He is also able to take the kids to work with him since he isn't so busy.  Bailey got to go with him all by herself for the first time today.  She was so excited and thought that she was a pretty big girl.  Jace, Brooklyn and I stayed home and got to spend some quality time together as well.

I hope you enjoy these pictures!

This is the start to my morning every day.  I'm a thankful mama!

Grandma Marlene picked up Bailey and took her on her first shopping
trip.  She was so excited and talked about it for days afterwards (:
Jace feeding the horses at Grandma and Papa's house.

Jace and Bailey would be perfectly content to sit here all day
and play in the dirt.  (They wanted to dress as pirates, in case
you were wondering what was up with the bandannas).

This is one of the watermelons that we grew this year.

                                                                   Collecting the seeds

Brooklyn has officially found her thumb.  She is our first thumb sucker.

                                                        ended up weighing 108 pounds.

Happy 3 Months Brooklyn!

I don't know where the time has gone but Brooklyn is now 3 months old (actually a little older but I forgot to take pictures)!  She is such a happy, easy and good baby who is loved very much by all of us.  She loves to smile, try and talk, and she is starting to figure out that she has hands and that she can grab things.  Jace and Bailey can't get enough of her, and neither can we.  Enjoy!

Bailey was really excited about their matching outfits

Here is a little flashback to when she was 2 months

Coast Ranch and Fair in Paso Robles

This past weekend we had the opportunity to go to the coast ranch in Cambria and also to the Paso Robles Fair and Rodeo.  It was a welcomed surprise because it has been super busy on the farm lately  We were excited to get away for three days. Jace caught a huge bass out of the pond and it was so much fun to watch him try and reel it in.  We didn't have a scale but we are guessing it weighed around 5 pounds.  We also took the kids to a place we call Indian Springs.  They had fun pretending they were Indians and tried to make "Indian food" by crushing acorns and leaves on the rocks.  They also liked collecting feathers and putting them in their hats. Some of Brody's family was able to come with us as well and we had a lot of fun relaxing, fishing, catching ladybugs, going on quad rides, playing horse shoes and spending time together at the fair.

Jace found the "jackpot" of ladybugs

Me and my crew.  This is how Brooklyn looked

                           Say cheese!

It wouldn't be the coast without Hagen Daz coffee ice cream!

Yep, his had fit inside the fishes mouth!

Jace put his feather like this so
                 she thought she should too.

                         Fun at the fair
This is as close as we got to having a
group picture.  Notice Brody and the kids
               in the background :)
This is the one ride I really wanted
to go on.  And yes, Bailey had to pick
              the pink one.
They were out within minutes of
                leaving the fair.
Jace fell asleep with his whale prize
that Grandma Tanis won for him.

Painting Lessons

The other day as we were eating dinner Jace started asking about how God made all the different colors.  Brody was trying to explain it to him and then he decided it would be easier to just show him.  We got our paint set out and the kids were so excited to start painting.  Here are some of the pictures from that we took.  Painting is now one of the weekly requests around our house :)  Enjoy!
