It's been awhile...

I realized the other day that it has been awhile since I have put up any pictures so here is an update on our family.  We went to a really neat pumpkin patch near our house and had fun looking at pumpkins, taking train rides, playing in the play houses they had there and walking through the forest.  We carved pumpkins at my parents house this year.  We thought that the kids would be so excited but it ended up being the adults who carved everything.  The kids watched for a few minutes and then they were over it.  For Halloween this year we went trick-or-treating around our neighborhood with some of our friends and family.  The kids all had so much fun and got a ton of candy!

Brooklyn turned 7 months old and she is starting to move around a lot. Jace and Bailey love it when she tried to crawl on them.  The weather has been great so we have enjoyed walking to the park.  We try to play outside as much as possible since it's getting dark around 4:30 or 5 now.  There is a park by our house that has a wobbly bridge at and Jace and Bailey have a new favorite game where they pretend they are grumpy old trolls.  It is the only think they like to play there and they now call that park the "Grumpy Old Troll" park.

We have all been enjoying Brody's slow season at work and were able to take a few days and go to the coast ranch in Cambria.  It was perfect weather while we were there and we went on a lot of quad rides, went fishing, played in the play house, relaxed while the kids took naps, and went to the beach.  The kids love to play at moonstone beach in Cambria and collect rocks.  Bailey had her pants so full of her "favorite" rocks that they would barely stay up anymore.

Since it's Brody's slow season at work he has also got to start going hunting a little bit more.  He got to take our dog, Kaci, pheasant hunting and he said that she did great.  It was one of her first times hunting and I know he is looking forward to going more with her.

While Brody was hunting I got to go to the zoo with the kids and some of our friends.  It was so much fun.  Jace loved running from exhibit to exhibit with his friend Brycen and Bailey liked following them around.  Thanks Marissa for inviting us!

Thanks to the mom who asked if she could take a picture of our family for us.
She must know how rare it is to get one of everyone :)

Picking out our pumpkins.

Jace wanted Brody to carve a spider on his pumpkin to
match the one on his cheek.

Jace, Stet, Bailey & Brooklyn with their pumpkins. Carved by Brody,
Brittany, Heidi & Cody.  Bailey thought her pumpkin needed to be
pink.

Getting ready to go trick-or-treating.

And we're off!!!

Family dinner with the Grandparents.

Brooklyn at 6 months old.

They got dressed in winter clothes all by themselves and
went on a polar bear hunt.  Apparently they were successful.

We had fun enjoying the river while it was still a little bit
warm out.

Brooklyn is starting to have fun at the park too.

We went shopping for new shoes and she thought that she needed
this pink sparkly Dora purse.

Quad rides at the Coast Ranch.

The perfect climbing tree.

Bailey caught this fish for papa, picked it up and tried to
take the worm out.  Good girl :)

The fishing was amazing!  We probably caught around 15 bass.

Jace found a deer shed.  He now tells us the story of
how he found it every night.

Family picture at the beach.

Jace running from the waves.

Jace and Bailey have been really into playing dress up lately.

I somehow talked the kids into stuffing all of my Christmas Cards for me.
They kept telling me how good they were at doing it.

Brooklyn is ready for Christmas

Silly snowmen.

Jace carried this Pheasant around all evening after Brody shot it.  It got to go on
bike rides, took a "nap" in a tree because it's eyes were closed and played on the
slide with Jace.

Bailey had a "date" day with dad while I took Jace to a football game.  They
picked me some pretty flowers and caught a butterfly.

Kaci practicing pointing birds in our back yard.

Hanalei Bay, Kauai

We had the opportunity to go to Kauai in early October with my (Janelle) parents, sisters, and our families.  It was so much fun to get away for awhile and spend time with the family.  We rented two condos for all of us to stay in and the kids LOVED getting to stay with grandma and papa the whole time.  Jace and Bailey were finally at an age where they were able to just play on the beach together without us having to monitor how much sand they were eating and Jace actually liked to swim in the ocean this year.  The past times we have gone to the ocean he has not wanted to even touch it.  We spent our days playing on the beach, swimming in the ocean, going on short hikes so that the kids could come (even though Bailey was not too fond of walking),  swimming in the pool, playing games with the family and eating way too many delicious snow cones.  Jace had so much fun going on the hikes or "adventures" as he liked to call them.  We were able to meet up with one of my college volleyball team mates and her husband and they took us on a really cool hike down to a beautiful waterfall.  We were able to swim in the pool below the waterfall and also go behind it.  Everything about the vacation was amazing and we are so thankful that we got to go.

Jace built us a fort to hide under when it rained.

On our way to Queen's Bath

This is where Brooklyn spent most of her time when we were
at the beach.

One of the caves near Tunnels Beach

Our hotel had the coolest pool.  This is the kids swimming area.
It was about 1&1/2 feet deep and had a sand area to play in.

We made it to Queen's Bath.

Bailey LOVED the sand and was always covered in it
from head to toe.

Wailua Waterfall.  It doesn't look like much but it was
80 feet tall.

The hike down to the waterfall.  It was much
steeper than it looks!

Swimming in the kiddie pool.

They LOVED swimming with Aunt Heidi in the ocean.

This tucan floatie saved the day.  He loved swimming in the
ocean after my mom got this for him.

The first picture of the 4 grand kids on my side of the family.
Brittany and Cody will be adding another girl to the mix this
coming March!

Brody builds the best things for the kids to play in!

This was the amazing view from our condo!

Shave Ice Paradise was a daily stop.  Side note: DO NOT give
your kids snow cones right before nap time and expect them to sleep.

Headstands

I ordered this drink an Bailey's reply was, "Thanks mom for
getting me such a pretty drink!".

Our hike to Queen's Bath

We made a friend named "Goosey" who came to our room every morning
for some cereal and crackers.

Thanks Ellen for showing us the way down to this beautiful waterfall!

A big thanks to my parents for taking us on vacation!  We had so much fun and will always remember the fun times that we had together.
